Items Dutch Design Graduates 2012 is the second digital international version of Dutch design magazine Items annual graduation issue.

Items Dutch Design Graduates 2012 features Items selection of over 70 remarkable graduation projects from a dozen design schools in the Netherlands and Belgian Flanders, scouted by our team of twenty experts from all walks of design.

Next to the richly illustrated selection, this issue features an introduction by Items editor-in-chief Max Bruinsma, an essay by Sydney based design researcher Kees Dorst, a revisit of three designers who graduated 1, 5, and 10 years ago, a personal view of life after graduation by former Items editor Robbert van Strien, and a closer look at three design start-ups with a green mission.

Items magazine, the Dutch view on design, was first published in 1982 as a bi-monthly magazine and has been the leading Dutch design journal ever since. Covering all design disciplines and focusing on the interactions between Dutch design and global design discourses, this issue is Items second international publication. Stay tuned for future editions!

Founded in 2010, LUSTlab is the media and technology research laboratory of the design studio LUST in The Hague. LUSTlab researches, generates hypotheses and makes unstable media stable again. The outcomes vary from (strategic) visions to new communication tools, man-machine installations and physical products using digital content.
